Maternity packages and prices
Our Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine Unit allows you the choice of a consultant-led and a sonographer-led service. There are a number of scans that are typically carried out at different stages of pregnancy and these can be booked individually or as a package.
We always aim to ensure all those visiting us at The Portland have as positive and stress-free experience as possible. As a result, if you have private medical insurance, we recommend you talk to your medical insurer as soon as you know that you are pregnant to establish what you are able to claim for under your policy.
Consultant-led maternity care
Consultant-led care is for mothers-to-be who choose to be looked after by a consultant obstetrician. It's also for those who have a high-risk pregnancy and may not meet the criteria for midwife-led care.
All consultants who practice at The Portland Hospital are independent practitioners and will advise you on all aspects of your antenatal, delivery and postnatal care.

Midwife-led maternity care
Midwife-led care is available to mothers-to-be who are medically and physically low risk and expecting an uncomplicated pregnancy and birth. Our team of highly-experienced, friendly and committed midwives are available 24 hours a day for advice.
During your antenatal journey you will be cared for by a team of two midwives where possible, this is in line with ‘Better Births’ recommendation. It is proven to enhance personalised, safe care and improve postnatal and perinatal mental health when continuity of carer is provided. When the time comes for your baby to be born, you will be guided through labour and birth by a dedicated midwife with an assigned consultant obstetrician on standby throughout. Our complete midwife-led package can be accessed at 10, 20 or 30-weeks pregnancy.

Ultrasound and fetal medicine packages
Our Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine unit offers both a consultant-led and sonographer-led service. Combining state-of-the-art equipment with leading medical specialists, our clinics run throughout the week from 9.00am to 7.00pm and on Saturday mornings from 9.00am to 1.00pm.
We carry out a number of scans and non-invasive prenatal tests during the different stages of your pregnancy. These can be booked individually or you can choose from one of the packages we offer.
