Cardiology and Respiratory Outpatient Services
Opening hours:

On-call service:
24 hours (Cardiology only)
- Electrocardiogram (ECG)
- ECG monitoring (24–48 hour / 7-day, including leadless)
- Echocardiography (including stress echo)
- Exercise stress test
- 24-hour blood pressure monitoring

- Full lung function testing
- Reversibility testing (bronchodilator response)
- Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) test
- Polysomnography (PSG) / full sleep studies

Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy
Opening hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8.00am – 8.00pm / Friday: 8.00am – 5.30pm
Inpatient therapies:
Seven days a week service from 8.30am - 4.30pm including an evening respiratory on-call physiotherapy service.
Services include:
- Musculoskeletal physiotherapy (back, neck, joint pain, sports injuries)
- Post-operative orthopaedic and trauma rehabilitation
- Ergonomic assessments
- Women’s and men’s health physiotherapy
- Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy

Inpatient opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
A limited inpatient service is available at weekends and bank holidays.
Outpatient opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 8.00am – 6.00pm
Appointment times variable daily in person or remotely via Microsoft Teams.
Appointments are available at:

Appointments are available at The Shard Outpatients or Canary Wharf Outpatients.
The last appointment slot for HBT is generally 10.30am (tests can last up to two hours).
Therapeutic diets and education are available for the treatment of a variety of conditions, for both inpatients and outpatients, including:
- Weight management (including obesity and weight gain)
- Diabetes support
- Heart health (cholesterol, high blood pressure)
- Gastrointestinal support (IBS, coeliac disease, general gut health)
Speech and Language Therapy
The team cares for patients with a range of conditions, including:
- Stroke recovery
- Dementia-related communication support
- Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
- Voice and speech disorders (dysarthria, dysphonia)
- Voice therapy including LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment)
One-Stop Breast Clinic
Our consultant-led, triple assessment breast clinic is offered to any patient presenting breast symptoms and includes the following features:
- Medical history review and clinical breast examination.
- Mammogram or ultrasound, or both (same day results available).
- Core biopsy of the lump may be performed if clinically indicated to confirm the diagnosis (same day results available).
- MRI may be advised for further investigation.

Our consultants and day surgery team provide a fully comprehensive endoscopy service. They can also carry out further investigations of symptoms, including:
- Abdominal bloating and pain
- Change of bowel habit

- Rectal pain and bleeding

Upper GI Physiology Service

- High resolution oesophageal manometry
- 24-hour pH/impedance monitoring

Renal Dialysis Unit

Oncology at Private Care at Guy’s
Services offered include:
- Inpatient unit specialising in medical and surgical oncology
- Chemotherapy treatment suite (opening hours: Monday to Friday: 8.00am – 8.00pm)
- London Radiotherapy Centre
- Robotic and breast surgery
Acute Admissions Service
Once admitted, patients will be in the specialist hands of our consultant physician team, who provide 24/7, 365-day care for:
- Acute admissions requiring a named medical physician
- Patients requiring an inpatient consultation or transfer to general medicine
- ITU patients requiring step down care under a named medical physician
- Pre-assessment patients requiring consultant input outside anaesthetics
Orthopaedic Trauma Rehabilitation Programme
The Orthopaedic Trauma Rehabilitation Programme will offer care to patients who may have:
- Complex fractures involving one or both lower limbs
- Complex fractures involving one or both upper limbs
- Complex pelvic fractures
- Major fractures of the spine without spinal cord injury
- Major single or multiple limb amputations of any cause
- A combination of above injuries
