Mr. Vivek Srivastava is a highly experienced consultant cardiac surgeon based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. He specializes in a range of cardiac surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), aortic valve replacement (AVR), mitral valve surgery, tricuspid valve repair, and multivalve surgery. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive mitral valve surgery and has played a key role in establishing this procedure at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
With over 20 years of surgical experience, Mr. Srivastava received his initial education and training in India before moving to the United Kingdom for further training. He has been awarded the FRCSEd in Cardiothoracic Surgery, which is a prestigious qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Additionally, he underwent specialized training in mitral valve surgery at the renowned Cleveland Clinic in the United States, where he also completed a fellowship in "Minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery."
Mr. Srivastava places a strong emphasis on patient care and ensures that he spends time with his patients both before and after surgery. He believes in fostering a good understanding with patients and prioritizes their well-being and recovery.
Aside from his surgical practice, Mr. Srivastava has a keen interest in surgical training and education. He actively supports the professional activities of the organizations he is affiliated with, including the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery GB&I and the Indian Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons. In addition, he has completed an MBA at Oxford Brookes University to enhance his general management skills, further contributing to his expertise in the field.
