About

Tajvur Saber is a highly experienced Consultant Rheumatologist based in the West Midlands. She is the Consultant Rheumatologist for the West Midlands Community Rheumatology Team with Modality within the NHS and also sees private patients in Birmingham.

Dr Saber specialises in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of rheumatological conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, pseudogout, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, polymyalgia rheumatica, osteoarthritis, juvenile arthritis, and inflammatory arthritis associated with pregnancy. She also has extensive experience in connective tissue diseases such as Sjögren’s syndrome and lupus. A key focus of her practice is the early and effective treatment of inflammatory arthritis, particularly conditions such as gout and rheumatoid arthritis, to optimise long-term outcomes.

She qualified as a doctor and spent around ten years working across Ireland, gaining broad experience in General Medicine. In 2007, she was awarded the prestigious Newman Scholarship. This led to the completion of an MD in Rheumatology, with research focusing on rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. During this period, Dr Saber travelled extensively and presented her research at major American and European rheumatology conferences, including early work on biologic therapies as they were being introduced into clinical practice.

Dr Saber later completed her specialist training in the West Midlands, where she developed particular expertise in lupus and the management of rheumatological conditions during pregnancy. She is also an Honorary Clinical Researcher at the University of Birmingham.
