Mr Surya Gandham

Mr Surya Gandham is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon specialising in adult and paediatric spinal conditions, with expertise in scoliosis and complex spinal deformity.

His practice covers a wide range of spinal conditions, from common neck and lower back problems to complex spinal reconstruction. His clinical interests include scoliosis and spinal deformity, sciatica, disc prolapse, spinal stenosis, spinal trauma and metastatic spinal disease. He offers both non-operative and surgical treatment tailored to each patient.

Within his NHS practice, Mr Gandham manages both adult and paediatric patients, including complex spinal conditions and spinal deformity. He completed specialist spinal fellowship training in Sheffield and Liverpool, including at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and The Walton Centre. He was also awarded the prestigious British Association of Spine Surgeons/British Scoliosis Society Presidents’ Travelling Fellowship, visiting leading specialist spinal centres to further develop his expertise.

Mr Gandham has held national educational and leadership roles within the British Association of Spine Surgeons and British Scoliosis Society and has completed the British Orthopaedic Association Future Leaders Programme.

He places particular emphasis on clear communication and shared decision-making, ensuring patients understand their diagnosis, non-operative options and potential surgical treatments before deciding together on the most appropriate approach to their care.
