About
Dr. Sunil Patel is a consultant physician with triple accreditation in respiratory, general, and intensive care medicine. He manages general respiratory patients across multiple areas, including airways disease, bronchiectasis, acute infection, and pleural disease, with sub-specialty interests in interstitial lung disease and respiratory failure. Dr. Patel performs diagnostic bronchoscopy, thoracic ultrasound, and associated interventions.
In addition to his work in respiratory medicine, Dr. Patel is actively involved in intensive care medicine. He has particular interests in respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and invasive mechanical ventilation. He also provides peri-operative care for patients with known respiratory diseases.
Dr. Patel holds a PhD focused on critical illness-associated muscle wasting and the associated imaging techniques and assessments. He is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer within the department of anaesthesia, pain medicine, and intensive care at Imperial College London.
