His clinical practice covers both general surgery and complex hepatopancreatobiliary conditions, with experience in managing abdominal wall hernias, gallstone disease and a range of benign and malignant disorders affecting the liver, biliary system and pancreas. This includes primary and secondary liver cancers, gallbladder and pancreatic malignancies, and retroperitoneal sarcomas.
He completed his medical degree at University College London Medical School and undertook the majority of his surgical training within London hospitals. Following completion of specialist training, he pursued advanced fellowship posts in hepatopancreatobiliary and liver transplantation surgery at both the Royal Free Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital. His academic work was carried out at Barts and The London Medical School and Imperial College London, focusing on proteomic analysis in cholangiocarcinoma, culminating in the award of a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of London.
Mr Pericleous has extensive operative experience, having performed several hundred hernia repairs and cholecystectomies, alongside more complex abdominal procedures involving sarcoma and hepatopancreatobiliary disease. As a member of the Royal Free Hospital HPB unit, one of the largest centres of its kind in the UK, he is regularly involved in the care of patients with advanced liver, pancreatic, gallbladder and sarcoma conditions referred from across London, the wider UK and internationally.
