Dr Stavroula Pelitari is a consultant gastroenterologist, recognised for her expertise in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders. Known for her compassionate approach and commitment to excellence, she delivers outstanding care and remains current with the latest medical advancements.

Dr Pelitari was awarded her medical degree from Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece, before relocating to the UK to complete her specialist training in gastroenterology. She went on to undertake an advanced fellowship in endoscopy especially polyp removal and treatment of Barrett's oesophagus and currently serves as a consultant and endoscopy training lead at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust. 

A passionate advocate for safe, high-quality endoscopy and early cancer detection, Dr Pelitari has played an active role in shaping national standards. She contributed to the JAG committee that developed training guidance in colonoscopy and has been deeply involved in endoscopic training across London and the West Midlands. 

Dr Pelitari has particular expertise in endoscopy and polypectomy and is highly skilled in the management of complex conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and is a member of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO). 

Beyond her clinical practice, she is dedicated to advancing the field of gastroenterology through ongoing research and education. She has presented at numerous national and international conferences and is the author and co-author of multiple peer-reviewed publications reflecting her commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement. 

A firm believer in empowering patients, Dr Pelitari takes the time to listen, educate, and collaborate, ensuring individuals feel supported and informed about their care. Her empathetic nature and clinical expertise have earned her the trust of both patients and colleagues.
