Spyros Bakalis

Mr Spyros Bakalis is a consultant obstetrician with subspecialist training in maternal and fetal medicine and more than 15 years of experience in maternity care. He completed his medical degree at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School and subsequently worked across several of the UK’s largest maternity units.

His academic training was undertaken at King’s College London, where he developed expertise in fetal medicine ultrasound and contributed to research published in international peer-reviewed journals. He later completed formal subspecialty training in maternal and fetal medicine at University College London Hospitals.

Mr Bakalis currently combines clinical leadership with specialist care, serving as a college tutor while overseeing the maternal cardiac clinic and managing complex, high-risk fetal medicine cases. His clinical work spans routine obstetric care alongside advanced management of medically complicated pregnancies.

He supports individualised pregnancy and birth planning and offers tailored maternity care pathways, working closely with women to respect personal preferences throughout pregnancy and childbirth.
