Dr Simon Broughton has been working in Paediatrics since 1995 and a Consultant from 2007 based in London at King's College Hospital and Grosvenor Gardens Healthcare since 2022. He completed his medical degree at the University of Southampton in 1994 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He was awarded a PhD for his research work surrounding the long term consequences of bronchiolitis on prematurely born infants in 2007.
Simon focuses on developing systems of care to enhance patient safety. He has a particular interest in early recognition and prompt management of clinical deterioration of the unwell child. Simon has held senior managerial roles within his NHS work, and regional and national roles for education and training.
In his current clinical practice, Simon provides a wide range of services, including all general paediatric issues from day 1 to 16 years of age. He is very experienced in managing all acute paediatric issues, and respiratory tract infections, cough and wheeze, constipation, abdominal pain, headaches, fatigue and malaise.
Simon's clinics are in Dulwich and Belgravia with Grosvenor Gardens Healthcare and a new exciting practice in Marylebone with Central Health London.
The most important part of healthcare delivery for Simon is working collaboratively with the family and child to ensure the best plan for management that is agreed by all.
Simon also has a research background, having completed his PhD in 2009 and authored over 35 publications, which have been recognised and cited by his peers. (10 of which are displayed in the publication section).
