Mr Mukherjee is a highly skilled consultant Upper GI surgeon. He has expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, specialising in oesophago-gastric cancers, gallstones, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, achalasia and hernia repair. Known for his precise surgical technique and patient-focused approach, he combines advanced procedures with extensive clinical experience to deliver excellent outcomes. Mr Mukherjee’s surgical training began in Calcutta, India, where he qualified in 2001 and became a certified General Surgeon in 2005. He then completed specialist upper gastrointestinal training in London, gaining experience at leading centres including the Royal Marsden Hospital and University College London Hospital. He also undertook an international fellowship at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong, enhancing his expertise in oesophago-gastric cancer and complex minimally invasive surgery. In practice, Mr Mukherjee is experienced in laparoscopic procedures alongside advanced robotic techniques. He is actively involved in research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences. As a member of the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS) and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, he combines clinical expertise with a commitment to advancing surgical care and achieving the best outcomes for his patients.
