Mr Samir Matloob is a highly regarded consultant neurosurgeon based in Oxford. He specialises in neurovascular and skull base neurosurgery, with particular expertise in treating complex conditions such as brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), brain tumours, trigeminal neuralgia, and spinal disorders. Known for his meticulous and compassionate approach, Mr Matloob is committed to delivering advanced, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s needs.
Mr Matloob completed his medical degree at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, followed by comprehensive neurosurgical training at leading centres including Imperial College, UCLH, Great Ormond Street, and Barts Health. He further refined his skills with fellowships in vascular and skull base surgery at Cambridge before being appointed as a consultant neurosurgeon at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There, he established one of the busiest neurovascular practices in the UK and co-directs the Oxford Neurovascular Fellowship, contributing significantly to the development of the service.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Matloob is deeply committed to education and research. He directs the Oxford Junior Clinical Fellow Programme in Neurosurgery and regularly publishes research in leading neurosurgical journals. He also presents at national and international conferences, actively advancing neurosurgical knowledge and training. His dedication to innovation and collaboration reflects his drive to continually improve patient outcomes in complex neurological conditions.
