Mr Samir Matloob is a consultant neurosurgeon at Oxford University Hospitals Trust and Nuffiled Health The Manor Hospital, . He has subspecialty interests in neurovascular and skull base neurosurgery.
He qualified and trained in London, ranking first in the UK as he entered neurosurgical training, and was subsequently awarded the Junior Barrow Travel Fellowship. He trained in Imperial, UCLH, Great Ormond Street and Barts Health. He went on to complete fellowships in skull base surgery and vascular neurosurgery in Cambridge before being appointed directly into a substantive consultant post in Oxford.
Samir has one of the busiest neurovascular practices in the UK and is co-director of the Oxford neurovascular fellowship. He is also a member of the skull base team and manages patients with brain tumours as well as facial pain and hemifacial spasm. In addition to this, Samir manages patients with spinal and peripheral nerve entrapment pathologies.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Samir has a keen interest in medical education and training. He is the director of the Oxford junior clinical fellow program in neurosurgery and continues to publish his research in neurosurgical journals and book chapters, as well as presenting regularly at national and international meetings.
