Dr Salman Haider graduated from Guy’s and St.Thomas’ in 2004 with an intercalated Neuroscience BSc (hons) and a full university blue (Football). He undertook a PhD in Huntington’s Disease, conducting the first UK trial for a potential disease modifying therapy at the UCLH Clinical Research Facility and novel biomarkers (optical coherence tomography). He was awarded clinical tutor of year in 2014.
He is a senior lecturer at UCL involved in Distance Learning in Neurology between 2019-2023 and has launched a philanthropic medical education and expertise programme from UCLH.
He developed a five-question tool for headache and piloted the first neurology same day emergency care service in 2020, launching it fully in 2021, substantiating it in 2025 .
He also piloted the first Clinical Video Assessment for Stroke (CVAS) with Rob Simister involving emergency video assessment for stroke cases with the London Ambulance Service.
