Dr. Sala Abdalla is a Consultant General, Emergency, and Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgeon. She treats a wide range of surgical diseases, focusing on the biliary and upper gastrointestinal systems. She specializes in laparoscopic/minimally invasive 'keyhole' surgery, emergency general surgery, all types of hernia surgery, gallbladder surgery, surgery for reflux disease, and diagnostic gastroscopies. Dr. Abdalla has a strong passion for medical education and has re-developed the Intermediate Skills in Laparoscopic Surgery course for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She also teaches on the Basic Surgical Skills, Core Skills in Laparoscopy, and Intermediate Skills in Laparoscopy courses. Dr. Abdalla is keen on expanding global access to safe, effective, and timely surgical care and is the founder and director of Operation International UK, a surgical charity delivering free surgical care to underserved communities worldwide. She holds a certificate in Improving Global Health from Harvard University and has published extensively, including a book co-authored with Harold Ellis CBE FRCS.
