Dr Ruth Conroy

Dr Ruth Conroy is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist with over a decade of experience in the treatment of urological cancers, specialising in prostate cancer and urothelial malignancies. She is recognised for her expertise in the delivery of both radical and palliative radiotherapy, including advanced techniques such as stereotactic radiotherapy, and has extensive experience managing complex cancer pathways across the continuum of care. Her practice encompasses all aspects of systemic anticancer treatment, including hormone therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and novel targeted agents. She is committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care and works closely within multidisciplinary teams to optimise outcomes and quality of life for patients with cancer.

Having graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2005, Dr Conroy has dedicated her career to advancing the treatment of urological cancers, combining cutting-edge therapies with a patient-centred approach. A period working in Australia during 2013-14 provided valuable international experience and broadened her understanding of different models of healthcare delivery and cancer care. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Conroy contributes to the development of the oncology profession through her role as Clinical Lead for Recruitment into Clinical Oncology for the Royal College of Radiologists. She completed an MSc in Medical Education in 2022, reflecting her commitment to supporting excellence in the next generation of cancer specialists. Dr Conroy is passionate about innovation in oncology and the integration of new technologies and therapies that improve outcomes for patients with urological cancers.
