About

Mr Roozbeh Shafafy is a highly experienced Consultant Spinal Surgeon specialising in adult and paediatric spinal conditions, with particular expertise in complex spinal deformity. His practice covers the full spectrum of spinal surgery, including scoliosis, kyphosis, degenerative spinal conditions, spinal trauma and complex revision surgery in both adults and children. He has a strong interest in minimally invasive and computer-guided techniques and is actively involved in adopting emerging technologies to improve outcomes and reduce recovery times.

As a consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, a leading international centre for spinal surgery, Mr Shafafy manages complex spinal problems in both children and adults. He trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in London and completed specialist orthopaedic training in the South East of England.

Having completed combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical training in spinal surgery, Mr Shafafy is equipped with a broad and balanced perspective on both conservative and surgical spinal care. His subspecialist spinal fellowship training began at The Royal London Hospital and included time as an honorary fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He further refined his expertise through international travelling fellowships in Canada, Germany, Turkey and India, learning from globally recognised leaders in spinal surgery, before completing advanced training at the renowned spinal unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.

Mr Shafafy teaches on national and international courses and has published extensively in peer-reviewed spinal journals, contributing to ongoing research and advances in spinal surgery.

Mr Shafafy is dedicated to providing clear, comprehensive consultations, ensuring patients feel informed and confident in their treatment decisions.
