Mr Tom Quick is a fellowship-trained consultant surgeon specialising in brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries in children and adults. He has undertaken dedicated paediatric subspecialty training, including a paediatric nerve fellowship at Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney, and is recognised for his expertise in the assessment and treatment of nerve injuries affecting infants, children and young people.
His paediatric practice is founded on the principle that children with nerve injuries require a distinct approach to diagnosis, treatment and long-term management. As highlighted on his website, nerve injuries in childhood differ significantly from those seen in adults, with unique considerations related to growth, development, skeletal maturation and family-centred care.
His clinical practice encompasses the assessment and management of brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries in children, with a particular focus on delivering specialist care that supports both the child and their family throughout diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Dedicated resources are available for parents and young patients to help them understand nerve injuries and their treatment pathways.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Tom Quick is an Associate Professor at both the University of Bristol and University College London, contributing to education, research and innovation in the field of peripheral nerve injury.
