Jian Farhadi

Professor Jian Farhadi is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon who specializes in reconstructive, aesthetic, and corrective breast surgery as well as surgery after weight loss. As a microsurgeon, he is able to offer patients the various types of reconstruction currently available, including DIEP, SGAP, and TMG flaps. He has extensive experience in reconstructive surgery after double mastectomy using own tissue or implants combined with matrix. Prof. Farhadi was the past Director of the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' and King's College. He gained his medical degree at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and the University Pitié-Salpetrière in Paris, France. His general and plastic surgical residencies were completed in Switzerland and Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He is actively involved in teaching and research on the topic of breast augmentation and breast reconstruction and is regularly invited to international meetings to lecture on the subject. He is the author of over 70 publications and several book chapters. Prof. Jian Farhadi is also Co-director of the European Master in Breast Surgery, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He is the Founder and a Trustee of the Bra Foundation, Chairman of the London Breast Meeting, and a reader at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Basel in Switzerland. His expertise includes DIEP flap, SGAP flap, TMG flap, Latissimus Dorsi flap, implant reconstruction, double mastectomy and immediate reconstruction, breast reduction, breast lift, reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery.
