About
Professor Gordana Prelevic has over forty years' experience in clinical endocrinology. She gained her medical degree from the Belgrade University School of Medicine where she later became a Professor of Medicine.
Professor Prelevic currently works as a Consultant Endocrinologist. Her clinical expertise lies in reproductive endocrinology (with a specialist interest in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menopause and infertility) and osteoporosis. In her clinics Dr Prelevic see women with wide range of hormonal disorders including absent and/or irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome, unwanted hair growth (hirsutism), hyperprolactinameia, infertility. She also see patients with thyroid disorders, particulalry women with autoimmune thyroid disease who want to get pregnant. A significant proportion of her clinical practice is management of peri- and post-menopausal women and also women with premature menopause providing them with individually tailored HRT.
Dr Prelevic is deeply committed to teaching and training. She has published over 300 original research and review articles and contributed to numerous endocrinology books. Through her clinical and research work, she has contributed greatly to the field, pioneering the use of anti-androgen therapy in PCOS.
