Professor Nott is a consultant surgeon, with expert knowledge and experience in his field. He now specialises in keyhole techniques, especially for repairs of abdominal aortic aneurysms, and distal arterial bypasses. His other work includes appendectomies; hernia repairs; removal of lipomas and haemorrhoids; and treatment of varicose veins using ligation or sclerotherapy. He carries out laparoscopic surgery together with all aspects of open general and vascular surgery.

He is trained in endovascular techniques and regularly supports radiologists insert stents for abdominal aortic aneurysms. He carries out local anaesthetic carotid surgery and all types of the arterial bypass.
