Professor David Leslie is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Professor of Diabetes and Autoimmunity. He specializes in diabetes and thyroid disorders, with research focused on the causes of autoimmune diabetes through the study of twins and disease syndromes. Professor Leslie trained at Imperial College, King's College, and Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, and has held research fellowships at the University of Chicago and King's College. He has published 12 books and over 250 peer-reviewed papers and has received grants from numerous agencies. In 2012, he was elected President of the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland. His expertise includes diabetes, diabetes insipidus, parathyroid disease, thyroid problems, hypothyroidism, general medicine, and autoimmunity.
