Pieter Vermaak

Mr Vermaak is a UK-trained Consultant in Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon based in Birmingham. Originally from South Africa, he completed his medical degree there, where his interest in plastic surgery was first sparked during a lecture on facial reconstruction for trauma patients.

Following graduation, he moved to the United Kingdom to undertake Core Surgical Training in the South West, before completing his specialist training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the West Midlands. As part of his ongoing commitment to professional development, Mr Vermaak was selected to undertake several competitive international fellowships in Canada, focusing on Head and Neck surgery, Breast reconstruction, Cosmetic surgery and Microsurgery. These fellowships provided valuable experience in advanced reconstructive techniques and broadened his international surgical perspective.

Mr Vermaak is a substantive Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where his practice includes skin cancer treatment, Head and Neck reconstruction, facial palsy management and complex limb reconstruction.

He is known for his warm, approachable manner and takes care to ensure that patients feel informed, supported and at ease throughout their treatment. Drawing on extensive training and international experience, Mr Vermaak is committed to providing safe, thoughtful and high-quality care tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
