Dr Peter Williamson trained at Guy's hospital in London, graduating in 1980. He then gained experience in a wide variety of hospital jobs including dermatology, respiratory medicine and gastroenterology before completing his general practice training in 1987.

Dr Williamson joined a practice in Maida Vale, West London where he cared for a wide variety of patients from a spectrum of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, ultimately becoming senior partner in 1995. During this time he was a GP trainer and Director of the Central London Out-of-Hours service.

After several years of working in both the public and private sectors, Dr Williamson decided that his future lay in the City, working there since 1987. He has a wide range of medical interests particularly in dermatology, nutrition, psychological medicine and addictions.
