Neil Stone

I am a consultant with dual accreditation in clinical Infectious Diseases and laboratory Microbiology. I have substantial expertise in managing a broad spectrum of bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections, with a particular focus on complex and imported fungal diseases (medical mycology), as well as infections affecting immunocompromised patients.

In addition, I have significant experience in diagnosing and managing imported and tropical infections. My training and professional work across several countries in Africa have contributed to this expertise, and I currently hold a Consultant post at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases within the NHS.

My clinical practice includes the care of patients with a wide variety of both acute and chronic infectious conditions, including hospital-acquired infections and those that are drug-resistant or persistent. I also have a research background and a clinical focus on antimicrobial resistance and challenging fungal infections.
