Dr. Nasirul Ekbal is a highly skilled Consultant in both Nephrology and Intensive Care Medicine. Graduating with distinction from UCL Medical School in 2001, he began his career with comprehensive rotations at London’s leading teaching hospitals, establishing a strong clinical foundation. He then began specialist training in Nephrology at the city’s major renal centres, where his dedication to patient care and innovation became evident.
Driven by a passion for critical care, Dr. Ekbal advanced into higher specialist training in Intensive Care Medicine. At the Royal Free Hospital, he refined his expertise during a post-CCT dialysis fellowship in Nephrology, notably contributing to the development of an innovative mobile phone application for managing acute kidney injury (AKI). His commitment to research and clinical excellence led him to secure an MRC fellowship, during which he earned a PhD studying the effects of mitochondrial fluorescence in shock states.
Dr. Ekbal recently completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Medical Education at the Royal College of Physicians.
