Dr Muhammad Zafran is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, where he provides expert care for patients with a wide range of respiratory and general medical conditions.
He graduated from Ayub Medical College, Pakistan, in 2010, one of the most highly regarded medical schools in the region. Dr Zafran began his NHS career in 2014 and completed dual specialist training in Respiratory Medicine and General Internal Medicine across the South West of England. He was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2022 and was subsequently appointed as a substantive Consultant Respiratory Physician at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Zafran has a strong commitment to medical education and training. He serves as a Senior Academy Tutor for the undergraduate medical programme at University Hospitals Birmingham and is the Educational Lead for Resident Doctors in Respiratory Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He is also an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians, helping to assess the knowledge and clinical competence of doctors undertaking membership examinations.
