Mr Uday Dandekar graduated from Medical School in Mumbai, India, where he began his career in General Surgery. He later pursued a specialisation in cardiothoracic surgery, gaining experience across India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In the UK, he trained at institutions including Harefield Hospital and completed the West Midlands cardiothoracic training programme. Currently, Mr Dandekar serves as a Consultant Cardiac Surgery at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire. He is actively involved in academic research, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals.

His M.Ch work focused on Atrial Myxomas. A passionate educator, Mr Dandekar is committed to mentoring junior doctors and is recognized as a GMC-accredited trainer. Charity plays a significant role in his life. He is a member of the International Committee for Cardiostart International, a U.S.-based humanitarian organisation. Through this role, he has participated in cardiac surgery missions in developing nations such as Peru, Romania, and Ghana.
