Mr. Thomas Crompton is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with many years of experience in the treatment and management of paediatric orthopaedic conditions such as deformity correction, Perthes disease, neuromuscular disorders, foot and ankle conditions, and hip dysplasia. He sees private patients at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children.
Mr Crompton earned his primary medical qualification at Barts and Then London Medical School, after which he undertook his basic and specialist registrar orthopaedic training at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospitals. Mr Crompton was then awarded various paediatric orthopaedic fellowships at The Royal London Hospital and also at the Westmead Children’s Hospital, Australia. Upon completion of his fellowships, he was appointed Consultant at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, Brighton.
Since his appointment, Mr. Crompton has prioritised providing an excellent standard of care for his patients, and advocates for non-operative treatments, to put his patients at ease and reassure them that orthopaedic treatment does not always mean surgery. Mr. Crompton centers his practice around individualised treatment, often starting consultations by building a picture of the child's condition, to recommend the most appropriate treatments.
