Mr Syed Ali Shahzad is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon at the Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Trust. He completed his core surgical training within the Oxford Deanery, followed by advanced specialty training in General, Laparoscopic, and Robotic Urological Surgery in the West Midlands. He holds Fellowships from both the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Urol) and the European Board of Urology (FEBU). Mr Shahzad has also pursued a range of advanced scientific and specialist courses in robotic, laparoscopic, and laser surgery across Europe, South Africa, and the United States.

He plays an active role in clinical research and education. He leads the Specialist Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and serves as the Renal (Kidney) Service Lead. He was pivotal in launching remote proctoring for Da Vinci Robotic Surgery at the Trust—an initiative that has significantly advanced the training of future robotic surgeons. Additionally, he is a Senior Academy Tutor for medical students and contributes to various clinical research trials.

Mr Shahzad provides comprehensive care for a wide spectrum of urological conditions. He specialises in minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic procedures for kidney diseases. He also performs laser treatments for prostate enlargement and urinary stones, and holds Expert accreditation in Rezum therapy (steam/water vapor ablation) for benign prostatic hyperplasia. His clinical services extend to the treatment of recurrent urinary tract infections, haematuria, elevated PSA levels, erectile dysfunction, phimosis, epididymal cysts, hydrocoeles, and vasectomies. He is also skilled in laparoscopic varicocele repair.

Furthermore, Mr Shahzad has a special interest in the management of overactive bladder, offering treatments such as botox injections administered under local or general anaesthesia. He focuses on bladder health, particularly in conditions that cause increased urinary frequency and pain.

Dedicated to medical education, Mr Shahzad is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students. He is a member of several prestigious national and international medical organisations, including the Royal College of Surgeons of England, American Urological Association, Royal Society of Medicine, British Association of Urological Surgeons, and the European Association of Urology. He remains deeply committed to delivering healthcare with excellence, empathy, and compassion.
