About

Mr Sinan Barazi is a Consultant Neurosurgeon working at King’s College Hospital and within the London Neurosurgery Partnership. His clinical practice focuses on facial pain and trigeminal neuralgia, endoscopic pituitary and anterior skull base surgery, lateral skull base procedures, and a wide range of spinal conditions, including neck and back pain, sciatica, arm pain, and degenerative disorders of the spine.

Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, Mr Barazi graduated in medicine from King’s College Hospital School of Medicine in London in 1996. Following a period of service with the 14th Parachute Regiment in Toulouse, France, he began his surgical training in London. After obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002, he entered higher neurosurgical training, rotating through major centres including King’s College Hospital, Atkinson Morley’s Hospital, St George’s Hospital, and Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Neurosurgery in 2009.

Towards the end of his training, Mr Barazi undertook a fellowship in endoscopic pituitary surgery in Bologna under Dr Giorgio Frank and Dr Ernesto Pasquini. On returning to the UK, he completed further skull base fellowship training in Manchester with Professor Andrew King and Mr Scott Rutherford. He was appointed Consultant Neurosurgeon at King’s College Hospital in 2010.

Over the course of his career, Mr Barazi has performed more than 1,100 pituitary operations and over 200 microvascular decompressions using both endoscopic and microscopic techniques. He is a core member of the pituitary and skull base team at King’s College Hospital and contributes to the Complex Facial Pain and Trigeminal Neuralgia clinic at St Thomas’ Hospital. He also serves as joint Chair of the Medical Advisory Board of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association of the United Kingdom.

Mr Barazi is frequently invited to operate and teach internationally and delivers lectures at national and international meetings focused on skull base surgery, pituitary disorders, facial pain, and spinal surgery. He speaks five languages fluently: English, Danish, French, German, and Swedish.
