Mr Shabi Ahmad is a Consultant Urologist with specialist expertise in minimally invasive procedures for renal and ureteric stones, alongside laser surgery for prostate and bladder cancer. He completed his undergraduate medical training at Dow Medical College in Pakistan and later undertook urology surgical training in Newcastle. He became a Member of the Royal College of Urology Surgeons in 2008 and was awarded Fellowship in 2015.
Mr Ahmad has trained in leading urology centres across the UK, South East Asia, and the United States, gaining extensive experience in a wide range of urological conditions and procedures. He is also involved in national and international charitable work, contributing to the development of healthcare facilities in underprivileged and developing countries.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Ahmad is actively engaged in medical education. He works as a clinical tutor and supervisor for foundation and specialty trainees and holds the role of Honorary Visiting Lecturer at Dow University of Health Sciences.
His areas of practice include kidney stone management using advanced surgical laser techniques and lithotripsy (ESWL), treatment of prostate conditions including BPH with Holmium Laser Prostatectomy and Mono and Bipolar TURP, and the management of urological cancers affecting the prostate, bladder, kidney, and testes. He also treats blood in the urine through a One Stop Haematuria Clinic, urinary tract infections in both men and women, bladder dysfunction including urgency, frequency, incontinence and BOTOX therapy, erectile and sexual dysfunction, male infertility, and stress urinary incontinence. His surgical experience also includes prostate surgery and prostatectomy, UroLift procedures, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal, epididymal cyst removal, testicular implants, kidney X-ray procedures such as retrograde pyelogram, and penoscrotal surgery including circumcision, hydroceles, orchidectomy, and orchidopexy.
