Mr Saurabh Jamdar

Mr Jamdar graduated from the University of Manchester in 1999, where his passion for surgery first developed. He undertook the majority of his surgical training in the North West of England, gaining extensive experience in general surgery while developing a particular focus on liver, pancreas, gallbladder and biliary surgery.

During his training, he developed a deeper understanding of the impact these diseases can have on patients and the important role surgery can play in their treatment and recovery.

His specialist training culminated in a fellowship at the prestigious HPB and Liver Transplant Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he further developed his expertise in advanced liver and pancreatic surgery.

Today, his clinical practice focuses on diseases of the liver, pancreas and gallbladder, with particular interests in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, as well as abdominal hernia repair. He is committed to providing the highest standards of patient-centred care and firmly believes in the principles of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), incorporating this evidence-based approach into his surgical practice.

Alongside his clinical work, he maintains a strong commitment to high-quality research. His research career began with an MD thesis at the University of Manchester, undertaken while working as a surgical registrar. Since then, he has contributed to numerous research projects focusing on liver, pancreatic, gallbladder and hernia surgery.

Through his clinical and research work, he remains committed to advancing surgical knowledge, developing modern surgical techniques and continually improving outcomes and care for his patients.
