Mr. Subramonian is a leading Consultant Urological Surgeon and the founder of Birmingham Urology Clinic, established in 2005. Over the years, the clinic has become a recognised centre for tertiary referrals, attracting complex cases from across the West Midlands and beyond.
Mr. Subramonian is a national authority on stone disease and benign kidney problems, regularly managing highly complex cases referred both regionally and internationally. He is widely respected for his expertise in keyhole (minimally invasive) surgery for kidney stones and has been a guest lecturer and invited faculty member at numerous national and international urological conferences.
He currently serves as Chair of the Stones and Endourology Subsection of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS). In addition, he leads a well-regarded fellowship programme that has trained numerous urologists who now practice as stone disease specialists across the UK and overseas.
Mr. Subramonian undertook his basic urological training and research in West Yorkshire, before completing his higher surgical training in London. He received advanced training in endoscopic stone surgery and laparoscopic procedures at King’s College Hospital and St George’s Hospital. He further enhanced his skills through a prestigious travelling fellowship awarded by the British Urological Foundation, during which he trained at the Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States.
