Mr David Mowatt is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon specialising in both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. He is based at The Christie NHS Trust and also provides private consultations, including at The Christie Private Care and HCA UK at The Wilmslow Hospital.
He holds qualifications in both medicine and dentistry from St George’s Hospital in London and Edinburgh University. In 2000, Mr Mowatt was awarded Fellowship in General Surgery (FRCS) by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. After completing general surgical training, he undertook specialist training in reconstructive plastic and cosmetic surgery across the UK and the United States, with placements in Manchester, London, Yorkshire, Michigan, and Philadelphia.
From 2002 to 2004, Mr Mowatt served as Craniofacial Surgery Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. During this period, he also carried out research in tissue bioengineering and regenerative medicine, which led to the award of a Doctorate (MD) from University College London. He later achieved Fellowship in Plastic Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2009 (FRCS Plast).
Mr Mowatt’s clinical interests include skin cancer, including malignant melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma, as well as sarcoma surgery and surgery for neurofibromatosis. He has significant experience in reconstruction following cancer surgery of the face, head, and neck, alongside breast and gynaecological reconstruction. He also offers a full range of cosmetic surgery procedures. His practice covers cosmetic plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, facial plastic reconstructive surgery, facial reconstruction, mole mapping, breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, breast uplift surgery, breast reduction, face lifts, and lipoma removal. He also treats conditions including basal cell carcinoma, cysts, melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and skin cancer.
