Mr David Greenstein is a London-based general surgeon with a longstanding reputation as a leading vein specialist. He began his academic career with a BSc in Anatomy from the University of Leeds followed by an MB ChB and an MD from the same institution. In 1998, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS).
For more than two decades, Mr Greenstein has focused exclusively on the management of venous disease. Since 2003, he has championed minimally invasive, local anaesthetic “keyhole” techniques for the treatment of varicose veins. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of vein conditions, including varicose, spider and thread veins, leg swelling, venous ulcers, deep vein thrombosis and pelvic congestion.
He is experienced in a range of advanced endovenous therapies, including laser treatment, radiofrequency ablation, foam sclerotherapy, medical adhesive (glue) closure and mechanochemical ablation (ClariVein). Treatment plans are tailored to the individual, with an emphasis on selecting the most appropriate, streamlined approach to achieve durable clinical and cosmetic outcomes.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Greenstein teaches internationally on venous disease and contributes to the ongoing development of modern, evidence-based vein care.
