Mr Allen is an experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in the assessment and treatment of a wide spectrum of urological conditions. After completing his specialist urology training in London, he undertook advanced fellowship training at University College Hospital, where he developed particular expertise in the investigation and management of complex urinary tract stone disease.
He was appointed as a consultant in November 2011 and now leads regular outpatient clinics alongside flexible cystoscopy sessions and dedicated operating lists. His clinical practice covers a broad range of concerns, including urinary symptoms, haematuria, raised PSA levels, scrotal lumps and swellings, prostatitis, and kidney stone disease.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Allen plays an active role in medical education, contributing to the training of both medical students and junior doctors. His academic interests centre on kidney stone prevention and treatment, and he has shared his work widely through international presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
Mr Allen offers comprehensive diagnostic and surgical care, including flexible and rigid cystoscopy, rigid ureteroscopy, flexible ureterorenoscopy, and supine percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). He also performs procedures such as circumcision, vasectomy, epididymal cyst excision, and hydrocele repair. His wider expertise includes general and diagnostic urology, renal and ureteric stone management, lower urinary tract dysfunction, prostate conditions, blood in the urine, and scrotal disorders.
