Mr Christopher Chan is a Consultant Gastrointestinal and Colorectal Surgeon at The London Clinic, specialising in the management of complex colorectal conditions. He graduated from UMDS Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital, London, and completed his surgical training programmes in Cambridge and London.
He was awarded an MRC Clinical Fellowship during which he conducted research into pelvic floor dysfunction. He subsequently undertook advanced sub-specialist colorectal fellowships in Sydney, Paris and at St Mark’s Hospital in London, further refining his expertise in complex colorectal and pelvic floor surgery.
Mr Chan has specialist expertise in colorectal cancer, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, enterocutaneous fistula and complex anal fistula. He also has extensive experience in anorectal and pelvic floor disorders, including incontinence, evacuatory difficulty, constipation and pelvic floor reconstruction. His practice combines advanced surgical techniques with a comprehensive, patient-centred approach to care.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Chan is actively involved in surgical education and training at all levels, including MBBS, MRCS and Intercollegiate FRCS examinations, as well as contributing to the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences.
