Dr. Monica Gupta

Dr Monica Gupta is a highly respected Consultant Paediatrician with almost 30 years of NHS experience. She has spent more than a decade practising at consultant level across some of London's leading hospitals, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, King's College Hospital, and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, as well as serving in busy District General Hospitals throughout Kent and Surrey.

Dr Gupta provides comprehensive, child-centred care across the full spectrum of general paediatrics. She has particular expertise in holistic and lifestyle medicine, nutritional health, paediatric nephrology, and child and adolescent mental health. Her clinical experience encompasses a wide range of childhood conditions, including reflux and colic, cow's milk protein allergy and other food intolerances, kidney disorders, bedwetting and recurrent urinary tract infections, eczema and urticaria, constipation and abdominal pain, headaches, childhood obesity, skin conditions, and iron deficiency. She is passionate about early intervention and preventative healthcare, supporting families to make sustainable lifestyle changes and promoting a holistic approach to children's health and wellbeing.

Within the NHS, Dr Gupta has played a pivotal role in developing innovative paediatric services, including paediatric assessment and short-stay units, as well as rapid-access clinics. These initiatives have helped improve patient care and experiences across both North and South London. She is also recognised for her leadership in multidisciplinary education and training, particularly in enhancing communication and care pathways for young people experiencing mental health challenges. Through her work within NHS networks, she continues to contribute to the improvement of local and regional healthcare services.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Gupta holds several leadership positions in education, clinical governance, and patient safety. She serves as a Mental Health Lead, Cultural Safety Champion, and Educational Supervisor for resident doctors. Her commitment to quality improvement and research is demonstrated through her involvement in numerous service development projects, many of which have been presented at national forums, including conferences hosted by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the London School of Paediatrics. She is also a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine and sits on the Food and Health Council at the Royal Society of Medicine.
