Miss Samantha Tross received her medical degree from University College London in 1992. She rotated through a number of renowned teaching hospitals in London including St George's Hospital and the Royal London.
She subsequently received Fellowship training and gained valuable clinical experience overseas at world-renowned centers in Toronto, Canada, and Sydney, Australia, gaining further experience in primary and revision hip and knee replacement, computer-assisted arthroplasty, hip resurfacing and knee arthroscopy. She became a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2005.
Miss Tross specializes in conditions affecting the hip and knee. She offers primary and revision hip replacement surgery, primary knee replacement surgery, knee arthroscopic procedures, management of fractures and common orthopedic conditions, and robotic surgery. She is an expert in minimally invasive (keyhole) hip surgery. This involves minimal soft tissue and muscle dissection and damage, and results in less pain, less bleeding, faster recovery and rehabilitation, and a smaller scar. She also has an interest in hip pain in young adults.
The key to Miss Tross's success is a high standard of clinical treatment, effective communication, and a holistic approach to patient care.
Academically, Miss Tross is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Medical Case Reports and is an examiner for Imperial Medical School finals. She is also involved in teaching and has lectured on basic surgical skills courses run by the Royal Society of Medicine and Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.
