Dr Min Liu completed her medical education in China before relocating to the UK in 1998 to pursue a PhD in neuroscience at University College London (UCL). Following the completion of her doctorate, Dr Liu achieved the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in anaesthetics and pain medicine in 2018. She has since served as a full-time pain consultant at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital.
Dr Liu specialises in the diagnosis and management of chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and refractory neuropathic pain, employing a multidisciplinary approach in collaboration with colleagues from clinical psychology and other specialities. She is experienced in administering intravenous lidocaine infusions and has recently published related research in PLOS One. Her practice also encompasses the management of visceral pain, including pelvic and testicular pain, along with active involvement in teaching and research initiatives.
In addition, Dr Liu performs advanced pain interventions, including radiofrequency denervation for lower back pain and epidurolysis for radicular pain. Her primary areas of clinical interest are fibromyalgia, refractory neuropathic pain, and visceral pain syndromes.
