About

Professor Lockley is a Consultant Medical Oncologist with specialist expertise in ovarian cancer and ovarian germ cell tumours. She undertook her undergraduate medical training at University College London and later completed a PhD at Queen Mary University of London.

She heads a research team at the Barts Cancer Institute, where her work centres on developing novel treatment approaches for ovarian cancer and understanding how resistance to therapy can be overcome. Her research has been supported through multiple competitive personal fellowships awarded by the Medical Research Council and Cancer Research UK.

Alongside her laboratory-based research, Professor Lockley is actively involved in clinical trial activity, helping translate scientific advances into patient care. She has a particular clinical focus on ovarian germ cell tumours and holds the position of Vice-Chair of the Malignant Germ Cell International Consortium (MaGIC), contributing to international collaboration in this specialist field.
