Louise Parker is an internationally recognised nursing expert in Raynaud’s phenomenon, connective tissue disease, and long-term condition management, with over two decades of experience in healthcare. She worked for 15 years as Lead Nurse for Specialist Practice in the rheumatology and connective tissue disease department at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and has over 20 years’ specialist experience in this field. Her expertise includes advanced management of Raynaud’s phenomenon, systemic sclerosis, connective tissue disease-related dermatological conditions, and complex overlap syndromes.
Ms Parker completed her academic nursing education at King’s College London and her clinical training at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She has contributed extensively to research and audit, published nursing articles, posters, and book chapters, and regularly presents her work at national and international meetings.
She is a full-term past Chair of the Royal College of Nursing Rheumatology Forum and continues to advise on and contribute to national projects, while also consulting widely on clinical and professional practice. From 2023 to 2024, she was the inaugural specialist nurse appointed to the Board of Trustees of the British Society of Rheumatology, where she remains an active member.
In 2024, Ms Parker co-founded the Raynaud’s Clinic with Dr Kevin Howell, following their joint leadership of the clinic at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This dedicated service enables them to continue delivering highly specialised, patient-centred care, with a strong focus on timely diagnosis and expert management of Raynaud’s phenomenon and related conditions.
