Miss Louisa Ferguson is a specialist in Paediatric Otolaryngology and Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery. She consults privately at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children. Miss Ferguson is the only surgeon to be qualified in both Cleft and ENT subspecialties within the UK. She has an interest in all aspects of paediatric ENT, but particularly airway, sleep apnoea, facial plastic surgery and palatal dysfunction affecting speech.
Miss Ferguson completed her medical degree at Edinburgh University and her surgical training in both London and the West of Scotland. Miss Ferguson spent two years gaining specialised experience in fellowship positions at both the Evelina Children’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She has written multiple text book chapters and peer reviewed papers, and is currently the representative for ENT UK on the UK wide surgical Training Interface Group Committee for Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery. She is also particularly interested in surgical leadership and education and has completed the Surgical Leadership and Management Programme at Harvard Medical School.
Miss Ferguson is a fellow at the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and a member of the British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngology (BAPO), European Society of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ESPO), British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (BSFPS), ENT UK and the Cleft and Craniofacial Society of the UK and Ireland
