Dr Kudret Yelden is a highly experienced consultant in rehabilitation medicine with a focus on neurological rehabilitation and treating severe brain injury, consciousness disorders, neuropathic pain and spasticity. She completed her medical degree in 1996 from Aegean University in Turkey and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2012. Dr Yelden completed her PhD in rehabilitation from University College London in 2019 and has an LLM in Medical Law and Ethics from De Montfort University.
Dr Yelden has worked at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability and currently practices as a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at The Wellington Hospital and The Platinum Medical Centre. She is skilled in botulinum toxin injections for spasticity, music therapy for consciousness disorders and treating brain injury complications such as mood and behavioural changes. Additionally, Dr Yelden advocates for patient autonomy in healthcare and the rights of patients with long-term disabilities, offering medico-legal advice to brain injury patients who have faced medical negligence.
Apart from her clinical work, Dr Yelden is actively involved in research projects in the areas of neurological rehabilitation and serves as a clinical lead in several of these initiatives.
