Jonathan Duncan

Mr Jonathan Duncan is a fully qualified Consultant Plastic Surgeon based at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 1998 and completed his early surgical training in the West of Scotland, followed by specialist training in plastic surgery in the North West.

During his training, Mr Duncan undertook a number of prestigious fellowships, including microsurgical breast reconstruction at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, skin cancer treatment at the Melanoma Institute Australia in Sydney, and aesthetic surgery fellowships in both London and the North West. On completion of his training, he was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Marsden Hospital before returning to the North West.

In the early part of his career, Mr Duncan also undertook dedicated research focusing on wound healing, scar management, and anti-scarring therapies. This work led to the award of a research doctorate, alongside publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences.

His specialist interests include breast reconstruction, aesthetic and developmental breast surgery, and chest wall reconstruction.
