Dr Jamil Ahmed

As an existential psychotherapist, Jamil is interested in our capacity to make sense of the world. He uses a phenomenological approach to help generate insight into our patterned responses, clarifying and resolving them if we find them problematic. This approach can be instrumental when we experience a crisis of meaning because of significant life transitions, loss and other existential issues. As a therapist, Jamil creates a collaborative and explorative space to navigate those uncharted territories and the complicated feelings that may emerge.

In addition, his integrative orientation allows him to personalise therapeutic methods to each client's needs, drawing from various modalities, including cognitive behavioural approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic and trauma-focused approaches (EMDR). An integrative approach allows the space to explore early history and focus on incrementally changing current functioning methods.
