Dr Hoda Temple has been a Consultant Rheumatologist at the Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust since 2016 and serves as Clinical Lead for Rheumatology. She leads specialist clinics in early inflammatory arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and arthritis associated with inflammatory bowel disease. Her leadership role includes responsibility for service development, modernisation and clinical governance in accordance with national and international rheumatology standards.
Her clinical practice covers a broad range of rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, mechanical and inflammatory back pain, fibromyalgia, gout, adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) and lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).
Dr Temple has undertaken Royal College of Physicians–approved training in nutrition and lifestyle medicine and has also completed training in life coaching. She is a member of the British Society for Rheumatology, the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), the British Psoriatic Arthritis Consortium (BritPACT) and the British Medical Association.
She has published research examining comorbidities in arthritis and related treatments and remains actively involved in clinical research. She acts as principal investigator for a number of rheumatology clinical trials and observational studies.
