Henrik Premasundaram

Dr Henrik Premasundaram is a GP Health Screener at HCA Healthcare UK, practising across multiple London sites including Canary Wharf, London Bridge (The Shard) and New Broad Street. He is the Healthy Weight Management Lead, overseeing patients within a multidisciplinary weight loss service focused on sustainable, long-term health outcomes.

He graduated from King’s College London School of Medicine and has developed a strong clinical focus on preventative medicine, metabolic health and lifestyle-based interventions. He also holds a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine, reflecting his commitment to integrating evidence-based approaches to nutrition, physical activity and behaviour change into everyday clinical practice.

Dr Premasundaram has a specialist interest in diabetes, weight management and risk reduction, with a particular focus on how structured exercise and lifestyle interventions can improve metabolic health and reduce long-term disease burden. His approach centres on delivering practical, realistic strategies that patients can sustain alongside busy professional lives.

Alongside his clinical work, he contributes to clinical governance through audit work across key screening pathways, including PSA, qFIT, breast and cervical screening, and works as a GP appraiser supporting quality improvement within primary care.

Outside of clinical practice, he maintains a strong personal interest in exercise and performance, regularly competing in hybrid fitness events and running. He previously played football at first-team university level, and brings this understanding of training, consistency and performance into his patient care.
