Mr Hassan Malik is a Consultant Surgeon and Associate Professor at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS foundation trust. He obtained his medical degree from Glasgow University in 1992. He passed the FRCS exam in 1996 and was awarded a M.D from the University of Glasgow in 2000. He is a fellow of the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Malik has led development of an active research programme within his department and has in excess of 150 publications within his field of interest.

Mr Malik is also past chair of the National Cancer Research Network (NCRI) Upper GI group as well as past-president of the British Association of Surgical Oncology and President Elect of the European Society of Surgical Oncology, as well as associate editor of the European Journal of Surgical Oncology.

He was appointed a consultant surgeon in 2008 with an interest in cancer surgery and extensive hepatobiliary (liver surgery) experience having undertaken in excess of 1000 liver operations. He also has significant experience in surgery for retroperitoneal sarcoma.
