Dr Zemrak completed his undergraduate medical training in Lodz, Poland, and has over 15 years of experience in medicine and cardiology in the UK, where he moved after obtaining his medical degree in 2006. He completed his specialist Cardiology Training in North-East London and was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist in 2020. With a strong background in research, Dr. Zemrak obtained a PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences from Queen Mary University of London in 2017.
His doctoral research focused on a rare heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy), during which he worked in London and at the National Institutes of Health in the United States. Dr Zemrak has co-authored over 35 scientific articles in cardiology and cardiovascular sciences. His interests extend to healthcare management, quality improvement, and clinical governance. In 2017, he secured a prestigious Darzi Fellowship, where he worked on improving heart failure services in East London. Recently, the European Society of Cardiology awarded him a grant to complete a master’s degree in Health Economics at the London School of Economics.
Dr Zemrak has established innovative services and remains actively involved in clinical research, quality and safety improvement, and clinical governance. His approach to patient care is deeply personal, aiming to treat every patient as he would his own family. With a specialised skill set, robust clinical training, and a multidisciplinary approach, he is well-equipped to manage even the most complex cardiac cases. Dr. Zemrak cares for patients experiencing symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations, irregular heartbeat, faints and loss of consciousness, high blood pressure, and high cardiovascular risk. His goal is to deliver optimal cardiac care through rapid diagnosis, personalised treatment, and tailored prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
He performs a range of diagnostic tests, including ECG, echocardiography, ECG Holter monitoring (from 24 hours to 14 days), ambulatory blood pressure Holter monitoring, and cardiac stress tests. For patients requiring further assessment, Dr. Zemrak collaborates with specialists to facilitate advanced imaging such as CT coronary angiograms (CTCA) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as procedures like coronary angiography, cardiac catheterisation, and ablation of abnormal rhythms.
